Luxury hotels in Europe

Europe's finest hotels,
reviewed by a hotelier.

Not a guest ticking off amenities — someone trained inside hotels, scoring service, design, food and location the way the industry measures itself. Starting with Munich.

About

An insider's guide, written by a hotelier.

I'm Konrad Xu. My fascination with hotels began at twelve and became a calling: understanding how great houses turn a stay into a memory. City Archivist is where I write it down — the hotels worth the journey, and the hidden corners of the cities around them.

Training & Background
  • Le Méridien Munich Marriott Bonvoy · Rotation: Front Office, Housekeeping, Breakfast & Banquet · 6 months
  • Aman Shanghai Internship
  • EHL Hospitality Business School, Lausanne From 2027

Europe is the focus — the perspective is international. My own path runs through Munich, Shanghai and soon Lausanne, and City Archivist is written for travellers from everywhere, with particular care for guests from China.
